Prayer Quilt Ministry

3:00 p.m.- St. Paul Education Center

What is the PQM? It is a group of ladies that make small “quilts” to give to those who need our prayers and support. When each quilt is completed members of the church tie a knot on the top side of the quilt. As that knot is tied the person says a prayer for that person. The quilt is then flipped over and the person can either just sign their name or write a brief message to the person to whom the quilt is to be given. When the signing is completed the quilt is then delivered to the recipient.

Please join us in the important ministry. And no, you do not need to know how to sew to participate in this work- there are many ways to assistant rather than with needle and thread!

Speaker: Paul Abernathy Director, FOCUS Pittsburgh

A graduate of St. Tikhon's Orthodox Theological Seminary, Paul is a Sub-Deacon in the Orthodox Church and holds a Master's of Divinity with a graduate thesis entitled "The Prayer of Broken Heart: an Orthodox Dialogue with African-American Spirituality." He also has a Master's of Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh and has previously served as the Coordinator for Community Research and Project Development at Wheeling Jesuit University. Paul has also served as a Non-Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Army and is a combat veteran of the Iraq War.

His Eminence Archbishop JOSEPH to visit to Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church

Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church is pleased to announce that his Eminence Archbishop JOSEPH will be visiting the parish from Thursday, March 15 until Friday, March 16.

His Eminence is Archbishop of the Diocese of Los Angeles and the West for the Self-Ruled Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America.

There will be a parish meeting with Archbishop JOSEPH, Friday, March 16 after the 6:00 p.m. Akathist Service, presided over by Archbishop JOSEPH. The service starts at 6:00 p.m. and His Eminence will address the congregation afterwards.
